AA01 - Asbestos Awareness Training

Who Should Attend?

This training is designed for anyone whose role might involve contact with asbestos-containing materials (ACMs). That includes general maintenance staff, managers, contractors, and anyone responsible for planning, supervising, or carrying out refurbishment, demolition, or building maintenance tasks. If there’s a chance asbestos might be present in your working environment, this course is for you.

To ensure everyone gets the most out of the session, we limit group sizes to a maximum of 15 delegates per training.

Course Summaries

The core aim of this course is to help you understand the risks of asbestos and know how to avoid them. Asbestos exposure can lead to serious health issues, and many people come into contact with it without realising the danger.

By the end of the course, you’ll:

Understand what asbestos is and why it was used so widely
Recognise the health risks linked to asbestos exposure
Be able to identify materials that may contain asbestos
Know the basics of UK asbestos legislation and the purpose of asbestos registers
Be clear on what actions to take in an emergency, such as accidental disturbance
Gain practical knowledge you can apply immediately in your role

Each delegate will receive a Certificate of Attendance as proof of course completion.

About The Instructors

Your session will be led by a qualified Asbestos Surveyor. They are a registered member of the United Kingdom Asbestos Training Association (UKATA) and will have worked with a range of businesses and public sector bodies.

With nearly 40 years’ training experience and over two decades in health and safety, Steve specialises in asbestos training backed by extensive real-world knowledge. He delivers practical, engaging sessions tailored to the people in the room, ensuring delegates leave with clear, usable understanding.

Nile is an experienced asbestos trainer with a strong technical foundation and a modern, engaging delivery style. He focuses on making training relevant and accessible, helping delegates connect industry best practice to real-world situations.
